How can I arrange a 72-hour visa-free trip to Guilin?

Steps to get your free visa

1. Be sure you have a passport from one of the countries above.

2. Declare in advance through the air company with which you booked your air ticket for the 72-hour visa-free transit.

3. Travel to Guilin by plane.

4. Apply for a transit permit at Guilin Airport. An air ticket from China to another country (or special region) is required.

1. Can I transfer to other 72-hour visa-free cities without a visa after finishing my Guilin trip?

No. You have to leave China after the visa-free Guilin trip. A visa to China is required if you want to transfer to other cities in China. We can help you apply for a Chinese visa in Guilin.

2. How many cities in China can be visited without a visa?

There are currently nine 72-hour visa-free cities in China. They are Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Dalian, Shenyang, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Guilin.

3. How to Calculate the 72 Hours?

The 72-hour period is calculated from the scheduled first landing at the next 12:00AM, after received an entry permit, when to the scheduled departure in the same airport in Guilin. For example, you apply a 72-visa-free-transite and get entry permit on Aug 1st, the 72-hour will start from the 12:00AM on Aug 2nd, during the 72 hours, you can travel to any administrative towns in Guilin as Yangshuo, Longsheng, Lingchuan,Xing’an and more, but not allow to travel outside of Guilin.
